Aric Press gives PLLIP Summit Keynote (c. O’Grady)

The 2015 Private Law Librarians and Information
Professionals Summit  was held on July
18th in conjunction with the annual AALL meeting in Philadelphia. This year’s
Summit  kicked off  with a keynote from Aric Press. Press is the former Editor-in-Chief of
American Lawyer and currently a law firm

Now in its sixth year, the PLL Summit
continues to be a vehicle for examining the impact and opportunities presented
by change in the legal industry. The PLL Summit 2015: The Innovation
Imperative
will explore how librarians can help provide innovative
solutions to the business challenges which law firms and legal information professionals
are facing

The PLL Summit is still going strong. It  has grown from an experiment born of the financial crisis  and the “new normal” in law firms which was hammering law firms into  a “must attend” program for private firm librarians and information professionals who want to stay on the “cutting edge” of issues impacting their firms.

Every PLL Summit has been a success but the  4th Annual PLL Summit, SOS: Shaping Our Success, which was held on July 13th in Seattle,  set a new standard of excellence by all accounts. Due to a combination of jetlag and computer problems, I was unable to write my normal nocturnal dispaces.  As my daughter likes to say, “God made midnight,
